Outdoor Kitchen With Fireplace And Pizza Oven

Building an outdoor fireplace pizza oven combo from scratch is one, but the relatively simple project that consumes time that almost anyone can achieve with patience and preparation. With some simple materials, including clay and sand, clay creates an oven dome capable of heating quickly and efficiently enough for pizza. Gather the necessary materials for your oven, and enjoy wood-burning pizza every day.

Mount the base of the pizza oven. Place a standard wooden pallet on a flat surface where you would like to have your oven. Put bricks in rows on the pallet so that they cover the wooden surface. Moisten the sand and form a spherical mound to act as the support for the clay. You should make the mound as big or as small as you would like the dome of your kiln to be. Newspapers to moisten and put them on the surface of the mound.

Mount the clay on the dome. Try using large pieces of clay instead of several smaller pieces. Smooth the seams with dampened fingers. Let the mud dry for three full days. Cut an opening in the front of the dome of the oven door. With a knife, cut an arched opening that is approximately 2/3 of the height of the dome and remove the pieces of clay. Remove the structure from the sand. Through the opening of the clay vault, recover all the sand and newspaper and discard. Fill cracks in the surface of the clay with additional clay. Soften the cracks uniformly and wait three full days to dry.
