Distressed kitchen island – In this case, homeowners had a fully operational kitchen island for years. Turquoise was a daring choice, but it worked. To spice things up, they chose to swap out for a solid wood table top and a natural, stacked stone backsplash. They decided to equip the area behind the stove with vintage style tin ceiling tiles.
The choice of wood for table top was easy. Distressed kitchen island was staying put, and it was covered with a plum slate from Vermont. In addition, homeowners have a pastry table adjoining Island, which is covered with white marble. Adding multiple cold stone for the kitchen distressed was not an option. Homeowners don’t care granite and other stone options, both natural and synthetic, was never seriously considered either.
