Stainless steel drinkware – You can be a bartender and still have time to enjoy your guests, if you have the right tools in your home bar. You must have the tools to do the job, but you also do not want to clutter the bar with lots of gadgets. If you have a specialty drink you serve, get the tools to do it, but otherwise few basic tools will take you a long way in a home bar.
Buy a set of stainless steel drinkware. Have a special place for them so that they will always be in the bar when needed. Include highball glass, lowball glasses, wine glasses, cocktail glasses, champagne flutes, martini glasses and beer mugs or steins, so you always have the right glass for the drink.
Buy a blender to make frozen drinks. Basic tools for a kitchen bar should also include an ice bucket and tongs, double jigger, bar knife with opener, stainless steel drinkware, bottle openers, cocktail shaker, cocktail strainer and corkscrew.
Arm bar with extras like a spout, cutting board, garnish tray and fruit press to make bartenders job easier. Finish with cocktail napkins, coasters, straws and stir sticks. Be creative and have your name put on the napkins if you want. Make sure you take stock of your supplies, especially before a big party, to make sure you do not run out at an inappropriate time.
